Get ready for business success in 2012!

Have you been thinking about what your business will be like in 2012? What’s your vision of what you’ll change, do differently or expand this year? Do you have a specific intention for what you’ll do to make it the best year ever for your business?

Here are my own 2 best secrets for extraordinary business success in 2012:

Secret #1: Clarity of Vision.  Be crystal clear about the vision you have for your life and your business and who you are BEING to express that vision. Are you BEING the woman who offers her best gifts to her clients, customers and community? Are you BEING the woman who is passionate about everything she does? Are you BEING the woman who is a dynamic thought-leader and leads with confidence and joy?

Secret #2: Clarity of Intention.  Be crystal clear about your intentions for what you will DO to share your vision. What will you DO to reach your ideal clients, customers and community? What will you DO to get the word out about your unique product, program or service? What will you DO to make a profound difference in the lives of your clients, customers or followers?

Feminine Success Action Step.  Create a “mind map” of your vision and intentions for 2012. Just get a large piece of plain paper and write, draw or use symbols to map out what you want for your business for the next 12 months. Make it simple to start and add more later if you wish. Post it in a prominent place where you’ll see it every day in 2012!

I’d love to help you achieve extraordinary success. Click here for more information on how.

Prosperity is a “mind-set”, but for women, it’s also a “heart-set”. To manifest prosperity and abundance in your business and your life, you must be open to listening to your heart and what it desires to express – your visions, your dreams, your passions and your intentions.

The Wisdom of Napoleon Hill

I’d like to share a couple of my favorite quotes by Napoleon Hill, author of the famous and timeless book “Think and Grow Rich”. This book has been a huge influence in my life and business, as it has for many other business people and entrepreneurs. My theme today reflects the wisdom of these two quotes, and I hope it will be an inspiration for you in reflecting upon what 2012 will be like for you — for the passions and desires you’d like to bring into the world next year.

Here are my two favorite Hill quotes:

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” –Napoleon Hill

“Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul,
the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.” –Napoleon Hill

Don’t these quotes say it all? I think of Napoleon Hill as the original “law of attraction” guru and his book as my first experience of understanding how the power of your mind and your burning desires create your success. But I’d like to change up Napoleon’s wisdom a bit and apply it directly to women — my own “feminine twist” so-to-speak!

“Whatever the heart of woman can conceive and believe, it can RECEIVE.” My belief is that when women are open to receiving we are much more likely to achieve success because receptivity is a powerful feminine quality. Masculine energy tends to be very assertive while feminine energy tends to be very receptive. These two powers are present in all of us, but receptivity feels more natural and comfortable for women.

I’ve developed three keys for attracting feminine success that you can apply to your life, business, project, message or mission for the upcoming year. Instead of creating New Year’s Resolutions, I encourage you to embrace these three keys as you formulate your goals, visions and dreams for 2012.

3 Keys to Attracting Feminine Success:

Key #1: Conceive It.  Conceive in your heart your true desires for your life and your business. What’s the burning desire and passion your heart is aching to express?

Key #2: Believe It.  Believe with all your heart that you will achieve what you desire. Believe in yourself and your unique gifts — 100%.

Key #3: RECEIVE It.  Receive abundance, prosperity and success into your heart. Receive them through that channel which is uniquely feminine — it’s not your head — it’s your heart!

If you apply these three keys to your life every day of 2012, I know you’ll have the best year ever!

Please leave a comment below and share how you will apply these 3 keys!

Today I want to give you some really simple tips on how to “give first” and be generous in your business, leadership and life!

I find that the more I embrace this concept of “give first” in my life, the more I get back.

Here are 3 Tips to Help You “Give First” in Your Business:

1. Give to Others.  Identify potential partners for your business and how you can help them. Offer to promote them first: blog posts, free report or audio/CD, webinar, teleseminar, Facebook Page, LinkedIn Group, etc. Do this in the spirit of “cooperate, reciprocate, co-create”.

2. Give to Your Community.  Give high quality expertise to your followers, fans, customers, clients and anyone who wants to get to know you and your expertise. Do this in the form of great free content on social media, free gifts, free tips and tools in your newsletters, and any way that fits your unique business.

3. Give of Yourself.  Be authentic, engaging, generous and available to your community, clients or customers. The more you share the “real you” the closer your potential clients and customers will feel to you and want to work with you. Share yourself and your story of expertise and success liberally!

Your marketing forms the foundation of your business. Without a clear, focused and consistent marketing plan your business is going nowhere! Check out this simple, 3-step system for setting up a dynamic marketing plan that will help you become more persistent, consistent and successful with daily marketing tasks:

STEP 1: Develop a “Know, Like & Trust” Relationship with Your Prospects

It’s paramount to develop a “know, like and trust” relationship with your prospects. Everything you do in your marketing and networking should be focused on building a trusting relationship with them. Providing opportunities for your prospects to get to know about you and your expertise will make them more comfortable and likely to purchase from you.

Help your prospects get to know you and trust your unique expertise through “social proof” of what you know. Cultivate relationships by leveraging your website, blog, social media marketing, newsletter, advertising, speaking, teleseminars or in-person networking.

Power Marketing Exercise: List 3 new ways you can develop an authentic and trusting relationship so potential clients/customers get to know you, like you and trust you.

STEP 2: Create Juicy “Free Tastes” to Attract Prospects to Your Offers

A great way to build your prospect’s awareness of your products or services is to offer a free taste, tips or tools in your area of expertise. If you’re posting on Facebook or Twitter you can share resources via links to articles, audios or videos. In your newsletter you can include tips that solve prospects’ biggest challenges. If you’re a coach or consultant you could offer a short phone consult to give a taste of how you work with clients.

These methods will help you build authentic relationships that give a big boost to your credibility. Every time your prospects sample a bit of your expertise, they come closer to purchasing your products, programs or services!

Power Marketing Exercise: What free taste of your expertise could you offer prospects by creating a free report, audio or video? How could you share tips and tools via social media, your email list, your newsletter, in-person networking, your website, your blog or submitting articles?

STEP 3: Build Your Prospect List by Building Your “Prospecting Skills”

There’s one very simple secret that will help you grow your prospect list: Your prospect list grows as your prospecting skills grow. It’s really that simple. It may take a little time to build momentum, but as your skills grow and you add more to your marketing mix, you’ll see more prospects and clients flowing into your business.

Facebook is a great example. As you build your friends list and your Fan Page you’ll be adding more authentic relationships that will feed prospects, referrals or collaborations to you. As your Facebook skills grow you attract more people to your fan base, your circle of influence, and subsequently, your prospect list.

Power Marketing Exercise: Write 3 ideas that will develop your prospecting skills and grow your prospect list. Examples are: Start a Facebook Fan Page, submit articles or press releases, attend a networking luncheon, create a newsletter, offer a free teleseminar or webinar.

Did you know that Webinars are the highest converting online marketing method you can use for your business? Next to presenting in person or on stage, Webinars are the best way to get (virtually) face-to-face with your ideal clients so you can share your expertise with them and compel them to purchase your products, programs or services. Teleseminars come a close second, and the following steps will help you develop them as well.

Here are 6 Simple Steps for Setting Up a Successful Webinar!

STEP 1:  The Formula for Creating a Wildly Successful Signature Webinar. You need to understand and be able to use 3 things before you start setting up your Webinar. First, if you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to get an opt-in mailing list started using an autoresponder such as www.aweber.com  or www.icontact.com  so you can set up an opt-in form for people to sign up for your Webinar. Second, you’ll need to choose a highly compelling topic and a title for your Webinar. Third, you’ll need to outline or write a script of what you want to cover in your Webinar so you can deliver your unique and powerful expertise to your attendees.

STEP 2:  The Technical Steps for Setting Up Your Webinar. 1) Set up an opt-in form/page on your website or blog where your registrants can sign up for your Webinar. 2) Create a “thank you/confirmation” page on your website or blog to share the call-in information with your registrants. 3) Get a phone line or webcast service. www.freeconferencecall.com is totally free, www.easyseminar.com is reasonable and really great to provide phone and webcast options for your attendees. 4) Create a slide show with free Google Docs (get a free Google account if you don’t have one and use their “presentation” document feature). You can also use Power Point or another presentation based software. Once you have all your links/phone numbers and information you can share these in your confirmation email. 5) Create an “autoresponder/follow-up” email in your AWeber or other email account to confirm with your registrants and give them the call-in details. 6) Do the promotion – send an email to your current email list and/or post on your social media sites about your event — make sure to include the link to your opt-in sign up page.

STEP 3:  Find Partners for Promoting Your Webinar. Joint venture (JV) and affiliate partnering are the best way to promote your Webinar. It will grow your mailing list and your business faster than anything else you can do online. Look for people in your niche who do something similar to you (some marketers call this finding your “Niche Mates”). Kindly, respectfully and authentically contact them about collaboration where you could each offer something unique to the other’s audience. You’ll know when you resonate with the right people to partner with and can then create the details of your collaboration together.

STEP 4:  Develop a Webinar That Has People Begging for More. The best way to develop a highly successful Webinar is to research your market for what is currently being demanded along the lines of your expertise. Then choose a topic that ties in with a product, program, course, coaching package or book (or whatever you want to sell on your Webinar). Then create irresistible, generous, highly valuable content for your Webinar. When you share what you are promoting at the end of your Webinar with passion, people will naturally respond with great enthusiasm!

STEP 5:  The Importance and Impact of Sharing Your Powerful Personal Story. The era of story telling as a marketing tool is upon us. When you present your Webinar, speak from your heart at all times. Your audience wants to hear your personal transformation story and how you overcame your challenges. This is how they connect to you and develop trust in you – when you are authentic and vulnerable and can relate to their struggles.

STEP 6:  Develop Your Compelling, Inspirational Personal Persona. The foundation of a powerful Webinar presentation is a strong personal presence. It’s important to allow your personal persona to shine through when you speak to your attendees. You become most attractive to your audience when you are a magnetic, passionate presence that is unique to you. Remember to always be authentic – this is what will inspire your audience to work with you, purchase your products or get on board for your cause or movement.

Your Webinar Creation Challenge: Start with Steps 1 and 2 and complete them within one week. Keep working through the steps and you should be able to get your first simple Webinar up and going within about 30 days. Remember to keep taking action one step at a time!

Women around the globe are changing our world by starting businesses that serve others in unique and powerful ways. Through the launch of extraordinary businesses and organizations, women entrepreneurs are contributing a “feminine touch” to the evolution of the world. And, they’re doing it with the power of the Internet. Social media marketing, email marketing and web-based tools are enabling women entrepreneurs to reach out globally with their powerful messages.

Recently, I’ve been calling this online movement “Feminine Power Marketing”. It’s marketing powered by women with a purpose and a passion who want to make a difference in the world. It’s women using the web to grow powerful social networks to accomplish their business vision and mission. It’s women pioneering feminine entrepreneurialism in the 21st century.

More women are launching businesses than in any other time in history. Many of us are ready to take our business ideas and dreams into the world in a big way. We’re accomplishing this by becoming social entrepreneurs who harness the power of the internet to reach out and connect in ways only possible through online social networking.

Opportunities abound for women to use online and social media marketing to realize their vision and mission. We can reach our audience with both “high-touch” and “high-tech” strategies that blend our heart-based passions with online tools that help us serve others in remarkable ways. This is truly a “feminine power” approach to doing business in the cyber world — The Feminine Way!

My business vision is to see women who want to change our world realize their dreams. My business mission is to help women entrepreneurs quickly grow large social networks that will have a powerful and positive impact on the people they want to serve. What’s yours?

I invite you to leave a comment and let the world know your vision and mission.

Are you a little overwhelmed with the countless possibilities of using social media marketing for your online business? Are you unsure about how to use tools like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to connect with and attract your ideal clients?

Your social media efforts should first and foremost be focused on building relationships and forming partnerships. This is what adds value to your audience and ultimately inspires and motivates them to take action to work with you.

Here are 3 ways you can connect more effectively and use social media as a powerful, client-attracting tool:

1. Connectivity vs. Content.

Social media is all about connecting with other people in authentic and real conversations. People want to connect with you by having conversations that are “real-life” as though you were face-to-face. The more you show up as the real you on social media the more people will be interested in building a relationship with you and what you offer. It’s important to show honesty and integrity in everything you do with social media.

So what about your content? That’s important too, and should be well-planned. But it’s not just the content that is client-attractive; it’s how you deliver it in a way that people can relate to YOU. It should be done in a way that cultivates relationships and delivers value to your prospects and clients. Your focus is on building the long-term relationship with content that ENGAGES your audience.

2. Leveraging vs. Selling.

Social media networking is no different than in-person networking. It’s not a one-sided conversation where you just continually promote yourself without engaging with the people in your network. It’s a two-way conversation between you and your audience that builds the know, like and trust bond.

To leverage the true power of social media and build a client attractive business it’s imperative that you contribute to the conversation taking place. Strive to contribute and collaborate with your audience and they will be more attracted to you.

3. Giving vs. Getting.

When using social media to put yourself on the radar with your potential clients, it’s important to focus on giving before you expect to get anything in return. Social media is a place where people expect high-content information and where they’ll want to get a taste of you and what you and your business offers. You’ll need to stand out from the crowd by delivering exceptional value.

It’s the long-term relationship you’re striving for when you engage in social media. You’ll need to show up consistently and contribute consistently to realize the long-term benefits of clients lining up to work with you!

Women everywhere are starting businesses at unprecedented rates and doing it the feminine way! I’m thrilled to see so many women launching the businesses of their dreams with purpose, passion and a mission to change our world.

Growing a business is easier than ever! There’s never been a better time for women to start and build an online business. You can enjoy the freedom of working from home, or you can work wherever you want to! Being a “social entrepreneur” by building networks and communities of like-minded people is made easy on the internet when you know how to do it. And, there are more feminine ways than ever to market yourself online.

The Face of Business is Becoming More “Feminine”

Despite the ease of all the wonderful internet marketing tools available today, I still see a lot of women entrepreneurs experiencing “failure to launch”. Often, women entrepreneurs struggle to find the “first steps” or the “right steps” to take to gain momentum and get their businesses off the ground.

I struggled with this too, for longer than I want to admit! But, after a number of years I realized that the face of business on the net was becoming more feminine. I learned more and more about how to build a business the feminine way. I found social media marketing to be the leader and began to integrate it into my Feminine Business Model. This updated model of creating and growing a business is much more enjoyable and appeals to my feminine side. Doing business this way has really given me a feminine business boost!

How can you boost YOUR business while still wearing your “feminine face”? Here are 3 keys for incorporating feminine aspects into your business and marketing plan:

Key #1: Boost Your Circle of Influence by Building Authentic Relationships

The first key for boosting your business is to focus on building authentic relationships. The great thing for women entrepreneurs is that most of us are great at doing this! One of our positive feminine traits is the ability to form and nurture relationships with other people. Use this to your advantage in your networking! Your goal is to become a “social entrepreneur”. You can do this whether you’re on Facebook, writing your Blog posts or networking at a luncheon.

It’s paramount to develop the “know, like and trust” relationship with your prospects. Everything you do in your marketing and networking should be focused on building a trusting relationship with them. Providing opportunities for your prospects to get to know about you and your expertise will make them more comfortable and likely to purchase from you. Help your prospects get to know you and trust your unique expertise.

A great way to build your prospect’s awareness of your products or services is to offer a free taste, tips or tools in your area of expertise. If you’re posting on your Facebook or Twitter account you can share resources via links to articles, audios or videos. In your newsletter you can include tips that solve prospects’ biggest challenges. If you’re a coach or consultant you could offer a short phone consult to give a taste of how you work with clients. These methods will help you build the authentic relationships that can give a big boost to your circle of influence.

Key #2: Boost Your Sales by Creating a Magnetic Brand

The best way to attract clients or customers to your products, programs or services is to create a magnetic brand or a signature system. When you create your brand, it’s important to make it “all you”. By this I mean that it must convey your passion and expertise for what you offer. Remember, you’re not only in business to make a profit, you’re also in business because you have your own unique idea you want to share with the world; perhaps even to change the world in significant ways.

You’ll attract clients or customers more easily when your passion and purpose are expressed through your products or services. It’s important to position yourself and your products or services to really stand out from the crowd. The key to boosting your sales is to tweak what you offer until it absolutely sparkles. Then create a “hook” in your marketing efforts to magnetize prospects to your juicy offer.

You can do this in two ways. First, really narrow your niche by exploring the marketplace to see where there’s a need for what you want to offer. Determine what your prospects would be highly attracted to. Second, create or tweak your products/services with a really dynamic solution to that niche market. By doing this you can even create your own “micro-niche”, because people are hungry for something special that is geared specifically to them.

Key #3: Boost Your Business Momentum by Playing BIG

If you want to build your business momentum and grow your business beyond your wildest dreams, you’ve got to play BIG. Now, I’m not saying that’s an easy thing to do. Playing big takes experience, dedication and focus to create the BIG results you want.

I highly recommend you start by finding a business mentor, coach or consultant. Also, you should be expanding your circle of influence to include “people of influence” that YOU follow. Watch what they do and how THEY play BIG, that’s one of the best ways to learn. Mastermind groups are also great for this.

Women often feel a lack of confidence about starting and growing their businesses. It might be because they’re really new to the strategies they need to build their business, or, it might be because they don’t feel what they have to offer is good enough.

I really encourage you to get off the “I have to be perfect, I have to get it perfect” band wagon! It’s really important to build up your confidence by just getting yourself launched and out there and tweak as you go. Challenge yourself to take on risk and reach out to others. This is how you play BIG!

Your Business Mindset is Your Biggest Business Asset

The most important asset you have in building business momentum is your mindset. Your unwavering focus on your vision and mission for your business is what will bring outrageous business success. Get up every day and plan your work and work your plan. Believe in yourself, even when no one else seems to.

Be patient, persistent and consistent in growing your business. Remember that your business is an expression of your passion, purpose and mission to change the lives of others. This commitment and devotion keeps your vision alive and will boost your business the feminine way!

The most critical decision you will make for the success of your business is choosing your niche. If you want to catch the right fish, you’ve got to get your fishing pole in the right pond. If you try to please everyone, you will be frustrated and out of business!

Instead of trying to help everyone who has a pulse, define your niche by narrowing the field to only people who have the problem you can solve. Your unique knowledge and expertise will serve a certain group of people. It’s actually MORE profitable for your business when you focus only on this group of people.

What is a niche?

A niche market is composed of people or businesses that have similar needs or interests. This group of individuals or businesses needs to be readily identified and easy to reach. You can break down your target niche into 3 elements:

  1. A specific type of person you serve
  2. The pressing problem you help that person solve
  3. How you solve that person’s pressing problem with your unique solution

Picking a niche for your business doesn’t have to be hard. Simply find or create a great product or service for a highly targeted audience seeking solutions to their problems. Read on for 3 easy steps for quickly picking your perfect niche.

STEP 1:  Research the Market

Before you begin the process of choosing a niche, it’s imperative that you think in terms of a product or service you are passionate about. You are going into business not just for profit, but to express your purpose and passion, so you want to choose something you’ll enjoy doing.

If you don’t know what this is yet, ask yourself the following questions:  What skills do I love to use? What talents can I share with others? What hobbies do I love so much that I loose track of time doing them? What product, service or program could I offer to a targeted niche that draws on my knowledge or expertise?

I encourage you to spend the necessary time to determine what you will offer as your product or service. Then explore the market to find the people or businesses who want what you offer. Your product or service can be tweaked to fit a target market as you complete the process of market research. You’ll enjoy greater business success by targeting a specific market that is hungry for the solution you can provide.

3 simple tools to research your market:

  1. Perform a keyword search related to your product or service on www.google.com, www.google.com/adwords or www.wordtracker.com.
  2. Check out forums, blogs and other places on the web where people are asking questions about your product or expertise and see what they are saying.
  3. Send a survey to your current customers/clients or find people in your prospective target market and ask them for feedback on your idea for your product or service.

STEP 2:  Define Your Customer Profile

Your customer profile is a snapshot of the ideal person or business you’d love to work with. This sketch of your perfect client’s traits and qualities will help you create powerful marketing messages they will want to hear and respond to.

It’s really important to get very clear about your ideal client so you can create a unique sales position (USP) that speaks to this potential client—and ONLY this potential client! Your niche forms the foundation of your potential client base, so you want to build up the right traffic to your prospect list and offerings.

3 tips to create your customer profile:

  1. List their qualities and traits such as likes, dislikes, habits, styles, hot buttons, etc.
  2. Determine their demographics such as gender, age, education, geographic area, occupation, income, etc.
  3. Uncover their concerns, issues, challenges, frustrations, dreams and goals.

It’s much easier to market your business and establish yourself as an expert when you provide solutions geared specifically to your ideal customer!

STEP 3:  Narrow Your Niche

Now that you’ve done some research, identified your ideal client and determined your potential product or service, you’ll need to narrow it down even more. How? You narrow your niche by excluding all the people you can’t help.

If you can’t find people to buy your product, your product is not unique, or you can’t easily find your ideal client you’ll be setting yourself up for failure. I suggest you take a bit more time and utilize the process below to really hone in on the potential person or business looking for your exclusive product or service.

3 step process to narrow your niche:

  1. Look for sufficient demand for your product or service; make sure it’s not too broad (too much competition) or non-existent (no market for it).
  2. Offer something unique that differentiates you from all other competition; create your own unique niche.
  3. Determine how and where you can easily find your target market; define tangible ways to reach your niche.

Choosing a niche is one of the biggest challenges for women entrepreneurs because we want to help everyone (we’re just hardwired that way!). Women entrepreneurs often fail to choose a niche because we don’t like leaving anyone out.

Don’t skip this important step in launching or building your successful business. I created a lot of heartache and failure for myself in my early years as an entrepreneur because I ignored narrowing my niche. Niche marketing is the key to developing a profitable business and makes you stand out from the crowd!
